These terms govern your use of moxiiafrica.org (the site). Moxii Africa is the trading name of Media Monitoring Africa Trust. By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page is the version that applies, and the date below shows when it was last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Using the site

You may use this site for lawful personal, research, educational, journalistic and civic purposes.

You may not use the site in any way that breaks South African law or infringes the rights of others; attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system; introduce malicious code or attempt to disrupt or overload the site; scrape, harvest or systematically extract content in a way that burdens the site or misrepresents our work; use our name, logo or branding in a way that suggests an endorsement or affiliation we have not given; or submit false, misleading, defamatory or unlawful information through any form on this site.

We may restrict or withdraw access where these terms are breached.

Our content

Unless stated otherwise, the content on this site, including reports, research, articles, images, graphics and design, belongs to Moxii Africa or its licensors. All rights are reserved.

We publish our research so that it is read, cited and used. If you would like to reproduce, republish or translate any of our material, please contact us through the contact page and we will respond promptly. Short quotations for the purposes of reporting, criticism, review and research, with credit to Moxii Africa, are welcome.

Third-party logos, partner marks and photographs appearing on this site remain the property of their respective owners.

Reports, research and accuracy

Our reports and analysis reflect our monitoring and research at the time of publication. We take reasonable care to be accurate, but our content is provided for general information and does not constitute legal, professional or financial advice. Findings reflect the methodology and monitoring period described in each publication.

We may update, correct or withdraw material. Older reports remain available as a record of what was published at the time. If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, please contact us and we will consider it.

Information you send us

When you use a form on this site, whether to contact us, volunteer, donate or otherwise, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are entitled to provide it.

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. Please do not send us confidential or sensitive information through the forms on this site unless we have asked you to.

Our tools and other platforms

Moxii Africa operates and supports a number of tools and initiatives, including Real411, Dexter, MARS and PAdRe. Several of these run on separate websites and platforms. Where a tool is operated on a separate platform, that platform's own terms and privacy policy govern your use of it. These terms cover this website only.

This site also links to third-party websites that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices, and a link does not amount to an endorsement.

Availability

We aim to keep this site available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of the site without notice, including for maintenance.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, this site and its content are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or anything on it, nor for any loss arising from your reliance on content published here.

Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
