The primary purpose of this media monitoring project is to uphold media accountability and ensure journalists adhere to fundamental standards of fairness and professional ethics. By monitoring political reporting in real time, the initiative tracks how political parties are framed, identifies which policy topics dominate media agendas, and analyses who the primary sources driving election narratives are. These weekly summary reports serve as an early-warning tool to help newsrooms spot coverage gaps or potential biases early in the campaign cycle, giving editors the opportunity to adjust their reporting before Election Day. Following the election, Moxii Africa will release a comprehensive final report summarising overall media performance across the entire monitoring period.
