The Director of Media Monitoring Africa, William Bird says the only time we see children in the media is when something hideous and horrible has happened to them. Speaking on Morning Live Bird says, “The children account for 35% of our population but we see them in roughly 8 percent of the news so there is dramatic under representation of them.”
