It is the bitterest of ironies that older women, who in so many instances continue to be central caregivers, providers of resources through grants and pensions, who have taken care of and frequently served as chief protectors of countless families should find themselves not just vulnerable but so marginalised and unprotected, especially when it comes to online harms. Their broadly under recognised role in society and intersectionality makes the crimes against them all the more egregious. Moxii Africaurges the Special Rapporteur to treat digital violence against older women as a distinct human rights concern and commends the continued, proactive work undertaken by the Special Rapporteur in this regard. Moxii Africahopes that these submissions have proven useful and remains available to provide further information as necessary.
